An action horror which has just dropped on Netflix has sent viewers into a frenzy. <\/strong><\/p>\n

I think Netflix’s dystopian thriller which was outrageously cancelled after three seasons<\/a> was more than enough spine-chilling content for me, but if you’re a horror fanatic<\/a> and have been looking for a ‘masterpiece’ to keep you up at night with fresh nightmares, then the streaming service has you covered.<\/p>\n

The movie may’ve been released back in 2016, but it has just come onto Netflix US<\/a> and it’s causing quite the stir amongst viewers.<\/p>\n

Prepare to feel the hairs on your arms stand up on edge:<\/p>\n

Plot and cast <\/strong><\/h2>\n

The 2016 release stars the likes of Guardian: The Lonely and Great God’s<\/em> Gong Yoo, Jung Yu-Mi (Sleep)<\/em>, Ma Dong-seok (Badland Hunters) <\/em>and Kim Su-an (Project Silence)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Directed by Yeon Sang-ho (Peninsula)<\/em>, the film<\/a> was written Park Joo-suk (Project Silence)<\/em> and produced by Lee Dong-ha (Love Returns)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The movie sees a zombie virus<\/a> break out in South Korea<\/a> and is mostly set on a train from Seoul to Busan – with all passengers forced to fight to survive the journey. Onboard are father Seok-woo (Yoo) and his estranged daughter Su-an (Su-an), Sang-hwa (Dong-seok) and his pregnant wife Seong-kyeong (Yu-mi), and high school baseball team player Yong-gyuk with his cheerleader girlfriend Jin-hee.<\/p>\n

Initial release and response<\/h2>\n

The film premiered on 13 May 2016 at Cannes Film Festival before going on to release on 20 July 2016 in South Korea.<\/p>\n

According to investor-distributor Next Entertainment World (NEW), the film was made for $8.5 million<\/a>, Screen Daily reports<\/a>, and it went on to make $83 million at the box office.<\/p>\n

The movie has an impressive Rotten Tomatoes’<\/a> audience score of 85 percent and an officially fresh tomatometer score of 95 percent.<\/p>\n

And it’s since found its way onto Netflix and horror fanatics are lapping it up.<\/p>\n

Reaction <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Viewers of the film – titled Train to Busan – <\/em>have flocked to social media<\/a> to weigh in on the horror.<\/p>\n

One X<\/a> user said: “Train to busan emotionally ruined me.”<\/p>\n

“Wow TRAIN TO BUSAN crazy good,” another added.<\/p>\n

A third commented: “Watching train to busan again, getting ready to be emotionally destroyed by this masterpiece.”<\/p>\n

And a fourth resolved: “Train to Busan…Korea. One of the best horror\/zombie movies I’ve ever seen.”<\/p>\n
